Business Interest Sought for New Cobar Industrial Estate

Businesses seeking commercial land in Cobar are invited to submit an expression of interest to Cobar Shire Council, which has plans to build a new industrial estate in the town.

RDA Orana Director of Regional Development Megan Dixon is supportive of the Council’s application under the Growing Local Economies fund.

“The proposal encompasses a new purpose-built industrial estate with 30 fully serviced lots,” Mrs Dixon explained.

Council is now developing a business case in order to proceed its application.

“This is to gauge the level of interest from the community and if there is demand or interest in this development,” Mrs Dixon said.

The industrial estate would feature lots ranging from 5000m2 to 10,000m2, each with kerb, guttering and sewerage access.

“The project fits into the criteria for the Growing Local Economies fund so it would be wonderful to see it go ahead.

“It would be a major boost for Cobar’s industrial sector as it would encourage infrastructure projects which would enhance investment and future development, allowing for expansion of existing businesses and space for new companies to become established.”
