Final days to submit Orana Migration Agreement Survey

9 November 2018

Regional Development Australia Orana Director Megan Dixon is reminding all employers in the region that the window of opportunity to have their say on the occupations and number to be included in the Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA) application will be closing on Monday.

Stakeholders and employers in the Orana Region were sent a digital survey last Wednesday, to gather feedback on the proposed DAMA application for the region.

Mrs Dixon said we have had some great responses so far but if an employer is having labour shortages this is your opportunity to make light of the situation with a potential solution on the horizon.

"It will only take 5 minutes of your time and the information will be included in our submission to the commonwealth. The survey closes at close of business on Monday 12 November 2018,"

With the very prevalent discussion around migration in NSW and the appointment of the Premier's migration panel last week, there is no better time to highlight the need for migration in regional NSW, for population growth and workforce development," Mrs Dixon said.

DAMAs are custom-designed arrangements which support a tailored, regional response to labour needs.

The overarching nature of these agreements allow employers targeted and streamlined access to a broader range of overseas workers than allowed under standard State and National skilled migration programmes.
