NARROMINE FINALIST IN RURAL WOMEN'S AWARD

17th May 2019

With a background encompassing both rural and environmental management, Narromine’s Karin Stark has developed a passion for renewable energy on-farm.

A finalist in the NSW-ACT Agrifutures Rural Women’s Award,
Ms Stark hopes to harness more interest and investment in an area of farming
that will bring multiple benefits. The main areas of focus are wind, solar and
bio-gas.

“I am trying to accelerate the use of renewable energy
on-farm which reduces emissions and addresses climate change as well as being
financially beneficial for farmers.”

Ms Stark is organising the inaugural Renewables in
Agriculture Conference and Expo to be held in Wagga Wagga in November with
sponsorship opportunities available by contacting karin@reaqua.com.au.

If she wins the Agrifutures Award, the $10,000 bursary will
be used towards the event.

“I think I can make a difference, for future drought
proofing, it brings business resilience.”

The winner of the NSW-ACT Agrifutures Rural Women’s Award
will be announced at a gala dinner in Sydney on June 19.
