Focus on the jobs of the future

With the NSW Government’s forecast that 40 per cent of today’s jobs won’t exist by 2033 and 60 per cent of tomorrow’s jobs don’t even exist yet, it’s important to consider the workforce of the future.

RDA Orana’s upcoming Orana@Work Employer Summit aims to discover the secret to recruiting staff then retaining them once they become employees.

The event will feature the expertise of renowned demographer Bernard Salt who will reflect on the issue of family drift and the role of skilled migration
in supporting regional Australia.

Greg Savage, a trusted advisor and respected voice across the global recruitment and professional services industries, will also be a guest speaker.

“The World Economic Forum predicts jobs growth in industries such as arts, engineering, robotics, nanotechnology. 3D printing, genetics and biotechnology,”
RDA Orana executive officer Megan Dixon said.

“The challenge though is to work with industry, education providers, communities and the Australian Government to actively build the skills to manage these
future diverse high-value jobs.

“Our aim is growing and reskilling talent, encouraging business opportunities and attracting the best talent available. However, there is already significant
shortages in areas such as trades and hospitality, secondary teaching, aged care and other health services.”

The forum aims to address workforce gaps and assist in recognition of labour opportunities and ensuring the long-term sustainability of businesses and
their staff.

Other guest speakers on the day will address employing apprentices and trainees, how to implement skilled migration and adopting a workplace culture that
supports retention.

“There will also be a feedback session encouraging input from businesses so that we can be more specialised in targeting and delivering what they need.”

The Orana@Work Summit will be held at Dubbo RSL Club from 8.30am to 4.30pm on May 22. Tickets to the forum start at $110 per person and can be booked online at https://rdaorana.worldsecuresystems.com/orana-work-employer-summit
