Three communities in the Orana region have benefited from the latest round of the Federal Government’s Building Better Regions Fund. Cobar will host
The Grey Mardi Gras after successfully securing $37,500. The project will fund a three-day ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s themed festival, comprising of activities
including a parade, Baby Boomers picnic concert and fashion and food competitions, providing a new social event for the remote outback community.
In Mudgee, the Mid-Western Regional Council will host a Youth Entrepreneurship Summit with its $20,000 funding, to focus on supporting young entrepreneurs
and fostering economic growth. The project will deliver entrepreneurial skills, business start-up knowledge and form connections between youth
and mentors. Gilgandra’s $20,000 windfall will be used to fund a strategic plan which will enable the Gilgandra Shire to capitalise on opportunities
provided by the Study Area for construction of the Inland Rail - Narromine to Narrabri project. For more information on these and other projects,
